AB1747-DCM Direct Communications module
-The Allen-Bradley 1747-DCM is a Direct Communications module. This module is used to establish connection of an SLC 500 Fixed style or Modular Programmable controller to Supervisory industrial network via Remote I/O (RIO) link. It comes with one (1) RIO link connector and supports transmission rate of 57.6 Kbaud - 230.4 Kbaud. This module installs to any SLC 500 slot with a backplane current consumption of 360 milliamperes at 5 Volts DC.
The Allen-Bradley 1747-DCM is a direct communication module. The module is part of Allen-Bradley’s Remote I/O (RIO) series of adapters in the SLC 500 family. The application for this module is similar to that of a PLC-5. It distributes the SLC-500 processor located on the Allen-Bradley RIO Communication Link and lets them transfer data between each other. Each SLC 500 Controller can be connected to the Allen-Bradley Programmable Controller via the RIO Link, providing a distributed processing system. This DCM occupies 1 slot in any 500 SLC chassis. The Allen-Bradley 1747-DCM is an RIO adapter for a PLC processor with integral RIO scanners on the RIO Communication Link. It is also an adapter for RIO scanner.
