MTL MTL4850 HART multiplexer

The MTL4850 HART multiplexer is a device used to connect multiple HART field devices to a single RS485 bus. This allows for the configuration, diagnostics, and monitoring of the devices from a central location. The MTL4850 is SIL3 rated for safety applications and is approved to the latest standards of IEC61508.

The MTL4850 can accommodate up to 32 field devices, and can be connected to a PC running HART maintenance software via an RS485 to USB (or Ethernet) converter. Depending on the management software, up to 63 of the MTL4850 modules can be connected to it, making a potential count of 2016 smart field devices on one serial link.
